Porri led-IYC leadership celebrates Boro, calls for true federalism and end to persecution of Ijaws.
Today marks exactly 50years, after the mysterious passage of the Ijaw Warlord and hero, late Major Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro, who died in active service while fighting for the unity of the Nigeria state against Ojukwu led Biafra.
Ijaw youths under the aegis of Ijaw Youths council, central zone, under the distinguished leadership of Comr. Barr. Tare Porri, who has been receiving accolades all round for committed and selfless leadership, carried out what was described as massive procession in honour of the late hero in the yenagoa city.
Porri led thousands of Ijaw Youths down the streets, as they chanted Asawana, they marched down to the Ijaw house, in a peaceful and well organised manner.
In Ijaw house, Porri addressed the youths on the importance of today, and inspired them to become more than Boro.
He noted that boro was a hero and the emancipator and eye opener of the Ijaw race.
Porri therefore called for the unity of all Ijaw people, he called on the federal government to end the persecution of ijaws especially in the oil and gas industry, he noted that the ijaws wants true federalism and restructuring.
"Unity of Ijaw People is Paramount at this time, i am also calling on the Federal Govt to allocate Oil Blocks according to states, let us also as youths support the ongoing reform in the state for the interest of our tomorrow, the federal government should also not forget that we are determined by any means necessary for this country to be Restructured as we seek for True Federalism" Porri said.
