Gov. Dickson accused of withholding constituency funds of opposition assembly members

The Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson has been accused of withholding funds of perceived opposition members of the state house of assembly.

The affected members according to media reports are members representing Brass constituency 1, Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli of the All Progressive congress (APC), Brass constituency 2, Hon. Alfred Watson Belemote, and Ogbia constituency 3, Hon. Gabriel Ogbara of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

A constituent of Ogbia constituency 3 and top contender of the constituency seat in the forthcoming election, Mr. Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli who took to his Facebook page to condemn the alleged act of the Governor, stressed that politics in the state should be played without bitterness.

In his words: “Gov. Henry Dickson Seriake and Speaker Rt. Hon. Konbowei Benson are too big to play the petty politics they are currently playing. Let us discourage politics of Bitterness and Sentiments.”

“The idea of withholding Constituency Funds of the Members of the Bayelsa State Assembly representing Brass Constituencies 1 & 2 and Ogbia Constituency 3 is a very condemnable one.”

“Why is the Restoration Government afraid that the release of Constituency Project Funds will make the Law Makers from these constituencies who are members of the opposition parties to execute outstanding and very laudable projects that will sway supporters and Votes for them.”

“What is wrong and bad is wrong and bad and must be condemned by all”, he said.
