NUBSS PRESIDENCY: AYAKEME BOWS OUT OF RACE
An aspirant in the National Union of Bayelsa State students (NUBSS) Worldwide forthcoming elections, Snr. Comr. Ayakeme Solomon Igadiga alias Solomonism, who hails from Egbopuloama in Sagbama Local Government Area, a 300 level student, Department of Religious Studies, Faculty of Arts, Niger Delta University (NDU), has withdrawn his interest to contest as President.
Ayakeme made a withdrawal from the race, according to him, after consultations with critical stakeholders.
Ayakeme who expressed optimism in the forthcoming elections, but maintained that his actions to withdraw was motivated by the fact that other upcoming comrades should be given equal opportunity to express their leadership skills.
" To me, not every time you contest for political positions because you feel you are the most qualified person or you are the most experience or you have more political support than the next person.
" But at times you stay behind to give benefit of doubts for others to exhibit their leadership potentials.
" After one week of serious political and spiritual consultation, I am sure of a hundred percent winning of the NUBSS presidency, but it's time to open doors for others", he said.
He further thanked all those who stood by him, his statement reads:
" I want to use this medium to thank those that where supporting me seriously to ensure that I win the NUBSS presidency especially my immediate family, the K Mitin led SU executive, the Egbesu brotherhood, Byded, Kopus, MTN network, the current NUBSS National leadership, the senate council, the national G8, NDU chapter G8, the Ekelga youth council, SALGA youth leadership council, some past leaders, presidents of NUBSS worldwide,, some past presidents and leaders of SUG NDU, my academic adviser; Prof. Christopher A. Dime, founder and pioneer president of Ijaw National Congress (INC), my H.O.D; Dr. Lazarus B. Saale, my father in school; Dr. Uche A. Dike. My spiritual and other non mentioned political fathers cut across the south-south and south-west, with you people I am over-confidence that I can win any election that I will contest. I will strongly adhere to the rules. To my supporters who don’t understand the other side, who don’t know the real reason I back out, don’t see this as a disappointment, but it is a chance I give to others to exhibit their leadership potentials".
