BRASS PEACE IS NON-NEGOTIABLE: CHAIRMAN CALLS ON COMMUNITY LEADERS TO BE NON-PARTISAN.

Brass: In view of sustaining the current Tempo of peace in Brass Local government area of Bayelsa State, ushered in by the newly Sworn in Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Victor Isaiah, he has called on community leaders and members of various committees within the LGA, to stay void of political activities, but rather be instrument to checkmate the excesses of political leaders and maintain peace in the region.

The chairman noted that Committees of some communities in the LGA meant to maintain law and order have delved into political activities, championing political course, which according to him is not healthy.

He maintained that the LGA authority is not against the political inclination of any of the  individual members to any political group, but warned against using the name of their Committees to champion a political course, which he noted will not be tolerated as it is capable of generating crisis in the communities and disrupting the existing peace.

" Please not that any Action Committee found wanting in this direction will face unpleasant consequences. Chairmen of the various Action Committees should be guided by their mandate to keep law and order", the statement reads.

He further called on the good people of Brass LGA to bring any such case(s) to the council authorities, maintaining that the existing peace in Brass will not be negotiated for political gains.
