This month of June has been earmarked by leaders and great people of the Niger Delta region to celebrate an Icon of inestimable value, one who is said to be the Light of the region, a Living Legend as they put it.

High Chief Mike Ekayama Loyibo is the convener of the Niger Delta People’s Congress and a former leader of the Pan Niger Delta Elders Forum, PANDEF, the group at the forefront of the talks with the Presidency on how to end the standoff in the Niger Delta. He is a Vocal, bold, truthful Niger Delta Activist, one who has been described as a philanthropist, a living legend, known for his intellectual agitations which has opened doors of development, infrastructures, Job opportunities, Scholarships and development to the Niger Delta region.

Loyibo's giantstrides are evident in the today's Niger Delta Story, Rewriting the Niger Delta Story, from arms struggle to intellectual and diplomatic engagements, proving that the Pen is mightier than the Sword.

The ever smiling Ijaw born legislature, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, is to chair the thanksgiving reception on 25th June at Tuomo town, burutu Lga, Delta state, which is to hold after the grand event, scheduled for 24th June, at Warri, MOM Civic center, Off Airport road, at exactly 11am prompt, which will be under the distinguished chairmanship of no other, than the man who has a thirst for Justice and Equity, in person of Hon. Justice F. F. Tabai Jsc Rtd. CFR.

The grand Event on 24th June, will witness lecture topic titled " Roadmap to sustainable peace in the Niger Delta region" to be delivered by Prof. Patrick Muoboghare (Guest Speaker), King Alfred Diette Spiff is Royal Father of the day, while Gen. Cletus Emein, former Military Governor of Niger State, is grand host.

The Special Guest of honour also to be in attendance are:

The event which is tagged as the "BIRTHDAY LECTURE/LUNCHEON IN HONOUR OF HIGH CHIEF MIKE EKAYAMA LOYIBO" will have in attendance, dignitaries and high profiled individuals, drawn from all nooks and crannies of Nigeria, Governors, senators, Ministers, are not to be left out.

Series of activities has also been set aside to commemorate the Birthday Ceremony of High Chief Mike Ekayama LOYIBO, 17th, 18th and 29th, have been designated as the Conferment of Chieftaincy titles upon this great man.

Three (3) great Kingdoms in the region known for their prudence, integrity and values for their ancestral heritage, will be honoring LOYIBO.

The Idjerhe Kingdom in Delta State, on 17th June will be Conferring the title of "OTUYOTA", to be spearheaded by the Ovie (King) HRM. Edward Igho Otadaferua, Erhiekevwe 1 JP PNM.

The Umuofor Kingdom in Imo State, on 19th June, will be Conferring the title "OMEZIOHA" translating in English as ' one who brings favour' , to be spearheaded by the Ofor (King), HRH. Eze Dr. Eze A.F Chimaeze Emetumah III, LLB (Hon) DBA, PHD, JP.

The Opokuma (Opu-Okun) Kingdom in Bayelsa State,  on 29th June, will also be Conferring the title of " EBEBIDOUWEI OF OPOKUMA KINGDOM" by HRM King Okpoitari Diongoli, Ibedaowei of Ancient Opokuma Kingdom.

The event will be one in a million and will be tales for Children in Years to come.
