The Meaning of "ASAWANA" and How It can Save You in times of Trouble - By Bodmas Kemepadei

The word is a compound term, "ASA" and "WANA", ASA meaning something that brings forth light, literally it's the Sun, moon and the Stars while WANA on the other hand means "To continuously Shine forth" or "Ever Sparkling".

From the above, putting the words together, ASAWANA connotes to mean, "LET THE STARS SPARKLE", "LET THE SUN STAND STILL", "LET THE MOON SHINE OVER ME" or we could conclude and say ""LET YOUR LIGHT CONTINOUSLY SHINE FORTH" that is referring to force that gives life to the Sun, moon and the stars. An example is the Jewish scriptures Joshua 10:13, which reads as follows: ' And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies'.

The meaning of the word in plain terms "ASA" meaning "SUN, MOON OR STARS", "WANA" meaning "SPARKLING BRIGHT LIGHT" , may sound contradictory but in regards to the Spiritual context, it portrays the significance of the "SUN, MOON, STARS" which is to light and guide your path while providing you security as it's continuously shine forth. You must understand that the objects mentioned above do not have powers to bring forth light on it's own, but the force responsible for the light and to continously make it shine forth, it's the Powers of God as highlighted earlier, it is those powers that the chanting invokes, and spiritually the forces of evil and oppressors are subdued, while physically is to make your move of claiming victory, in the end you sing song of Praises as thanksgiving offerings.

It is good to note that when such word is put into action, it then performs in the exact situation that necessitated the speaker to have chanted it, for example, which is most popular, an Ijawman who is heading to war to battle the oppressors, when he comes in contact with the oppressors, he chants "ASAWANA", surprisingly, his enemies becomes weakened hearing the chant, he then charges forward and conquers them, pushing them away from his territory. In this exact Situation, ASAWANA then means "OH GOD! LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE FORTH AND SHIELD ME", and when the light of God shines over you, your enemies will be blinded and every evil plan will be averted, this is what occurs in this instance given.

it's like saying let the light of God be like form a shield upon me, a shield that is capable of repelling any evil power or forces of darkness.

It's also an exclamation word, a sensational utterance, believed to have a positive connective factor to the Spiritual realm, that when exclaimed in times of trouble, is capable of repelling forces of darkness, it's a force against Evil.

The meaning of the word in plain terms "ASA" meaning "UMBRELLA", "WANA" meaning "SPARKLING BRIGHT LIGHT" , may sound contradictory but in regards to the Spiritual context, it portrays the significance of the Umbrella which is for Safety (Shield) and The Light which is to guide your path and cover you from all forms of evil.

The Word though is an Ijaw Word, but can be used by any tribe or ethnic group, according to the faith level of the individual or his/her belief.

From findings, the word has been saving many lives and still saving lives against forces of evil. Of recent, by the mention of the word, so many evil agendas have failed, and it is believed that for as many that will continue to believe, to them, they will be given powers to trample upon any powers of Darkness and forces of evil.

According to your faith, may you from this day henceforth, as you speak the word with power and Without doubt, when you are faced with troubles, it shall answer to you and in the end, all Glory and honour will be given to "WOYINGI".

May the Grace and mercy of God be upon us.
