NEMBE IYC ADVISES LGA CHAIRMAN TO SHUN PARTISAN POLITICS AND SUPPORT IJAW ACTIVITIES
YENAGOA: The IYC Nembe city clan chairman, Comr. Yenimi Dick-Agbe has raised concerns over neglect of Nembe Local Government Area leaders in Supporting activities of the Council over political divides.
Speaking in a one on one interview, Comr. Yenimi Dick-Agbe accompanied with his mobilisation, Comr David Oyambo, accused the Nembe local government area Chairman, Hon. Kuroghofa Walter-Benwari and other leaders, of politicing affairs of Nembe people.
According to Yenimi, "It is sad to note that at this critical point in the affairs of Ijaw Nation, the Nembe people who was once protagonist of IYC have decline in their activities, simply because the leaders we have today are those with no interest in Ijaw activities because they consider others as members who are not part of their political circle.
Yenimi further stressed that the actions of the Nembe local government area Chairman, does not show the true Spirit of leadership, stating that IYC is not a political party but a pressure group, and it was sad that Hon. Kuroghofa has brought in party politics while handling the affairs of Nembe people in IYC, which to him, is unwise.
He therefore called on the LGA Chairman to follow the footsteps of others by Sponsoring vigorously and ensure the participation of Nembe people in iyc activities.
Yenimi further used the opportunity to inform Nembe leaders of the aspirations of one of their own out of the three positions zoned to the central zone (Bayelsa), he categorically mentioned that all hands must be on deck to ensure that Nembe people are properly represented in the Ijaw Youth Council.
