IYC ELECO FIXES ELECTION FOR MARCH 2ND, RELEASES NEW ELECTORAL TIME-TABLE AND GUIDELINES

In a press statement dated 27th February 2017, the Chairman of the IYC led electoral committee, Comr. Oscar Isu has announced a new date for the forthcoming elections, which is, Tuesday, March 2, 2017 by 12 pm at Burutu town, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.

‎The statements also informed all aspirants, stakeholders and the entire Ijaw nation that, due to constitutional time constraints and logistics challenges, the Electoral Committee has deemed it necessary to effect these date changes and adjustments in the ELECTION.

The new Electoral time-table is now as follows:

1. ‎SCREENING :
Screening of aspirants will take place on Wednesday, March 1, 2017

Venue : LaGold Hotel International  Conference Hall, Opposite Ekeki Police Station. Azikoro Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

2. SUBMISSION OF DELEGATES LIST:
All Clans and Chapters are instructed by this notice to Submit lists of delegates (3 delegates per clan for Western & Central zones, 4 delegates per clan for Eastern zone and 15 delegates each for Abuja and Lagos chapters,  as contained in Section 4 sub section 2 of the IYC constitution) with one passport photo on or before Tuesday, February 28.,2017 .

3. MANIFESTO
Venue: Burutu town, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.
Date: Tuesday, March 2, 2017.
Time: 10am - 11am

‎ 4. ELECTION DATE:
Tuesday, March 2, 2017.
Time: 12 pm
Venue: Burutu town, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.

The press release also states that counting and declaration of results will be done immediately after voting, followed by swearing- in of New Executives of Council.
