TIME FOR IYC TO UNITE, IJAW PEOPLE NEEDS US NOW - ROBERT IGALI
The famous Southern-Ijaw Born and former student leader who has served the council at the Clan level, Distinguished Comrade Robert Joel Igali today in a press statement has called on all notable leaders of the Ijaw youths council to sheath their swords and move for peace.
Making the call in Yenagoa when he was visited by Pressmen, the youth leader lauded and commended the relentless efforts of the council leaders and advised them not to throw all their efforts to the wind by reconciling amongst themselves.
According to him, "My dear supporters,i greet you all in the name of our struggle, i am particularly concerned about the seemingly disunity, disagreement among the top big wigs in council.
These big wigs are all critical assets of the council who had contributed immensely to the progress, development, and advancement of the council, both locally and internationally.
In building our council, we need their resourcefulness, intellectual re-orientation, contributions, sound advice, candid views, and above all, their esteemed presence to honour council invitations, i therefore humbly appeal with all of them to keep their disputes aside and embrace peaceful approach in bringing unity, peace and growth to Izon Nation.
As our most respected leaders, they should see themselves as unique symbols of the IYC.
How do they want the younger people to emulate them? At this time when the Izon nation is under severe attack by elements whom are bent on subjugation of our lands and possession of our resources, what we need is unity.
We need to urgently put our house together and transit peacefully for the overall interest of council and Izon People counting on us"
His Statements also highlighted that peace is much needed to build a more vibrant and United Ijaw nation.
