OGBIA UNITES AS OBHAN EMEYAL YOUTHS HOSTS UNITY CARNIVAL, GIVES CASH PRIZES TO YOUTHS.

On the 24th December, the Obhan Emeyal Youths council (OYC) led by Comr. Efere Azibator Tony kept to it's campaign promises of uniting the Ogbia people, by hosting the first Obhan Emeyal unity carnival, which provided a fora for Ogbia to come together and celebrate the age long forgotten culture and practices of the people.

The occasion was attended by elders, mothers, Youths and Children of the clan, particularly in attendance were some of the clan dignitaries, The CDC chairman Emeyal 2, Hon. Dennis egbo, Vice president, Ogbia brotherhood  youth wing,  Bright Ewa, Vice president Ogbia Brotherhood, High Chief Alfred Singer,
National leader Ogbia brotherhood youth council, Comr. Wisdom Igbrubia, Comr. Igwe terry, Emeyal 2 youths president and Kolo 3 Youths Presidents, Comr. Sokari Diyararu amongst others.

The Event was hosted at Emeyal 2 and featured lots of activities, ranging from Sensitisation rally around the town, Lecture Presentation, cultural dances and above all traditional wrestling contest which nine (9) communities out of the twelve (12) in the clan participated.

Among the communities who participated  in the traditional wrestling contest are as follows:

• Kolo III Represented by one Digha
• Kolo II Represented by Laghaja
• Emeyal II Represented by Livingstone
• Kolo I Represented by permanent
• Elebele Represented by Marcson
• Amonokeni Represented by Precious
• Oruma Represented by Victor
• Emeyal I Represented by Willy
• Otuasega Represented by JP Augustus.

The Contest was a very interesting one as each wrestler displayed his prowess, but Kolo III finally won the trophy, Kolo II came Second and Emeyal II came third.

The Obhan Emeyal Youths council Executive rewarded all contestants with cash gifts and presented a trophy and #50,000 cash to the winner while the second and third went home with #30,000 and #20,000 respectively.

The Event was really a remarkable one for the people of Obhan Emeyal as the audience were filled with joy and jubilation.

Giving his remarks, the President of the Obhan Emeyal Youths council, Comr. Efere Azibator Tony thanked all indigenes of the clan and appreciated them for turning out enmass despite the short notice, he also promised to continue hosting programs that will help to promote unity and peace in the clan.
