MICHAEL JOHNNY ESCORTS ALLEGED TO HAVE BEATEN UP IJAW YOUTHS LEADER AND FAMILY TO STUPOR

WARRI: A foremost Niger Delta leader and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and a close ally to President Muhammadu Buhari, Hon. Chief Michael Johnny has been alleged to have use his mobile police escort in beaten up an Ijaw youths leader, a former Presidential aspirant of the Ijaw youths council (IYC) and a former public servant, Hon. Johnbull cleopass, his wife and three kids.

Reports gathered revealed that, the incident occurred on Monday 28th 2016 at about 4:30pm around New layout Junction, off Jakpa road, Warri, Delta State.

While we contacted Hon. Johnbull cleopass to get a full narrative of the incident, he narrated as follows;

" I was on my way home to the new layout, so we stopped by at the Junction as there was a go slow, suddenly I heard sirens from behind and shouting, when I looked from out from my mirror, I saw mobile police escorts coming furiously towards our path, they were using their whips to Whip those on the way, beating up people, they were pouring out teargas on people and even to those inside the vehicle, when they poured on mine, I confronted them and told them their actions were wrong but what i got in return was the beating of my life, they poured teargas into my vehicle where my three kids and wife were, one of them was  tariemi cleopass 9yrs of age, the other was pamone cleopass 2yrs of age and the last Oyinmi Damien Cleopass 9months old, my kids and wife were bathed with teargas, if not for the help of passers-by, they would have suffocated to death, after they were revived I rushed them to the General hospital Ekpan, I Immediately Left and laid a complain with the A.C.O at the Warri Police Command, then we left for home".

Hon. Johnbull cleopass also said that on same day, he discovered that the mobile policemen were escorts to Michael Johnny, at the moment of his wonder, he received a call from Michael Johnny around 6pm apologising to him for the illegal act perpetrated by his Escorts, Johnny then sent entourage to him to plead with him and also arrange a meeting for the both of them.

Hon. Johnbull narrated that, Johnny's messengers came, in persons of Joseph Hitler and Samson Oyinmi, all from Ogbe-Ijoh, they pleaded on behalf of Johnny and asked him to accompany them to meet with Johnny since they were all Ijaw people, seeing how remorseful they were, he went with them, getting to Johnny's place, instead of seeing a remorseful person rather he met a furious and beasted attitude, Johnny ordered his policemen numbering about 8 to drag him on the floor, tore his shirts and beat him up like a common thief, after which he was whisked away and locked up in a police station on the orders of Johnny with no access to his phone or lawyer.

He stated that he was later released the next day morning still on Johnny's order as Johnny boastfully told him that all the police officers in Warri and the entire Delta State were all in his payroll.

Hon. Johnbull further said that after he got home, he received another call from Johnny again apologising for what he did as he blamed it on too much of alcohol, thereby calling for a peace meeting between them at the palace of a renowned chief, but I declined said Johnbull.

Meanwhile, Hon. Johnbull cleopass has officially written a petition to the police command and has contacted a law firm, Lord and Ugen partners Chambers, with Barr. Francis Yekovie to file a suit against Johnny over breach of fundamental human right and attempted murder.

Efforts to reach Johnny's media aide to get his own side of the story proved abortive as there was no response.
