IYC TREASURER OPENS UP, SAYS HE NEVER RAN AWAY, COMMENCES DISBURSEMENTS OF CONGRESS FUNDS.
YENAGOA: The National Treasurer of the Ijaw youths council (IYC), Comrade Ben Bowei, has come out to refute allegations that he absconded away with #2.5M council funds meant for zonal congresses, stating that his integrity and honor is worth more than physical valuables.
Recalling, Bodmasnews.com reported earlier that the Treasurer absconded with about #2.5m belonging to the council, this was the information made available to us from source within. But bowei has described it as a misinformation, affirming that though he held back the funds, but his actions were misconstructed.
But Comrade Ben Bowei, who has been a hardworking and resilient Ijaw activist, that has no doubt contributed earnestly to the growth and success of the Udengs Eradiri led administration. In a swift response confirmed that he has served the council diligently, without the interest of personal gains, he therefore stated clearly, that never will he trade with the interest of the Ijaw people, as he stands to defend the essence of the struggle.
Bowei was reported to have said that contrary to our reports, he held back the funds after withdrawal inorder to right some wrongs going on in the council. He maintained that his actions was to bring back the council's lost integrity.
Bodmasnews.com has also confirmed that the congress funds has been released by the treasurer to the various zones and chapters for commencement of the intended process.
Speaking with a source from within, who wishes to remain anonymous, spoke that there are no issues in the council, as all conflicts has been resolved, and there was normalcy.
