IYC: Wisdom Ikuli arraigned in court, Elvis and others now at large

YENAGOA: IYC Mobilisation Officer, Snr. Comr Wisdom Ikuli was arraigned at a Magistrate court today, Tuesday October 25th.

His arraignment followed a misleading information tendered by him, Elvis Donkemezuo and others currently at large to the Nigeria police force where they purportedly accused the IYC President, Engr. Udengs Eradiri of fraud and perpetrating violence, he further went ahead to go on a Radio station to mislead the general public, an act considered to breach public peace.

He was therefore called upon to defend his statements which he failed to do, his cohorts were also invited to the Station but they failed to appear.

Information gathered rrvealed that the Bayelsa state commissioner of Police invited both parties and pleaded with them to settle their differences as brothers, the IYC President agreed on the peace deal but Ikuli refused and decided to settle at the court.

The Commissioner of Police therefore charged Ikuli and others to a Magistrate court for conducting themselves in a manner which may cause security breach, on the following grounds:

(1) That Ikuli made defamatory statements through Rhythm 94.7fm  against the President of the IYC Engr. Udengs Eradiri (2) That he announced that Udengs has been suspended thereby causing fear and creating tension to IYC and the Public.

Onyekwereh Anthony the prosecuting counsel moved for their prosecution.

Wisdom Ikuli was further docked and charged for defamation of character and breach of public peace, Chief Magistrate I. E. Luckie, he was later granted a bail of #600,000, where he immediately bailed himself with a surety.

Elvis Donkemezuo and others are currently at large as the police are still in search for them.
