BREAKING NEWS: INSECURITY IN AMASSOMA, NDU STUDENT SHOT LAST NIGHT

A 300L student of Niger Delta University by name Ugorji Victor Ikechukwu of the department of Teacher Education, faculty of Education was mob at his residence in Amassoma, Bayelsa State at about 12:53am this morning.

He returned to school on Sunday the 28 day of August 2016 due to the recent call-off of the industrial strike action of the Academic Staff Union of University NDU Chapter that has lasted for 4 months now. He returned to clean his house and prepare for exam.

According to him, he was already sleeping when he heard a huge knock on the door calling his name. When he went outside his door to check who it was, he was shot. Luckily, it was his left arm.

He reported, "my gate was locked and when I step outside my door, the strange persons (they were two)  asked me to open the door which I refused knowing that I don't know them. But they persist and said **so you think say you fit offend people and go free** so I wanted to run inside immediately to grab my phone when they shot at me. He passed his hands through the pigeon hole and shot me. Luckily, it hit my left arm and I cried out for help. My neighbors came out meeting me in the pool of my blood and rushed me here".

His parents came this morning and took him to Port Harcourt as the police are investigating the matter.
