YENAGOA: At the just concluded international youths day celebration in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The Chairman Bayelsa state volunteer and Special Adviser to the state Governor on Youths matters, Hon. Ibarakumo Otobo said "Bayelsa is not a militant state". He was reacting to statements from different quarters and the recent published reports listing Bayelsa as one amongst the most dangerous and unsafe states in the country, prior to militants and sea pirates activities in the sea.
While addressing newsmen shortly after the Youths day celebration, He called on those persons denigrating the image of the state to Shun sentiments and refrain from their suprious comments. Adding that Bayelsa state under the leadership Gov. Dickson is relatively peaceful plus free from militant activities.
He said persons who still believe in those painted images of criminality and militancy in Bayelsa state is not informed and is unaware of the peace the state is now enjoying under Her current leadership. People can now enjoy with their two eyes closed the gift and calmness the night brings.
He further concluded by appreciating the effort of the Government to curb the inherited Street menace and other ill vices from the previous administration. He went on to commend the zero tolerance approach to criminality enacted by the government and adviced youths to remain peaceful and be patronage of development.
