IYC CALLS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NDDC MASTER PLAN, URGES PMB TO APPOINT THE AMNESTY COORDINATOR

The 8th elected executives of the Ijaw Youths council (IYC) Worldwide held its first NEC meeting in Ijaw house, yesterday 27th July, to deliberate on issues affecting the region, here are the resolutions;

1. Council sets up a Seven man Post election Committee to be headed by the deputy President, Comr. Saviour Olali.

2. The council frowns at the unnecessary accusations and counter accusations currently ongoing between the NASS and the NDDC IMC.

3. The council calls for the immediate implementation of the original master plan of the NDDC.

4. The council resolves to embark on an independent fact finding mission in the NDDC and the National assembly to ascertain the root cause of the crisis rocking the board and making far reaching recommendations, after due consultations with critical stakeholder's of the region.

4. The council calls on President Muhammadu  Buhari to as a matter of urgency appoint a substantive Special adviser on Niger delta/ coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty programme and as well begin implementation of the other aspects of the programme.

The Spokesman of the IYC, Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe in company with the National President, Dcn Timothy Igbifa, and other National officers, gave the statement to newsmen, at the premise of the Ijaw house, Yenagoa, shortly after they ended their meeting.
