Can Dini Melaye outsmart Smart Adeyemi with his moves

In every electoral process, the rise of last minute hurdles are always connected to the aspirants chances of winning or loosing as well. As much as possible, the application of desperation absents the adrenaline added to the political game, as it is like a game of joker, you make your best moves, your opponent makes theirs, and then the electorate has their own decision to make concerning who they vote for. The dynamics of democracy is the possibility of it swinging either way. Most of the time, people get convinced via proper marketing of policies the politician plans to carry out if elected, or the initial show of grace they enjoy through the campaign rallies going home with bags of rice and the rest.

Whatever the strategy is, politicians are supposed to understand the role of respect of life, and properties through out that political process, if during campaigns you admonish people to come out and vote, then during the elections they are abused by thugs or in some cases security agents, then the momentum built in those rallies is wasted. To gain followership, you must be an example to the society via words and actions. This means that you can't preach one thing and go the other way carrying out another. Integrity is a key word in building a political legacy because people will finish the bags of rice, or whatever has come in during the campaign, but if the politician can keep those words promised at the campaign ground, then it becomes a legacy. Any politician that can build a legacy has been able to achieve a larger than life status. But for some reason, the nature of political offices changes the attitude of these politicians when they get into office.

For Dino Melaye, in my opinion, with his keen interest in entertainment, music, movies and the spotlight, Kogi West should be an entertainment hub at this time. Imagine as one of his constituency projects, all this time he was in the Senate, was to build a film village where directors, film actors and all stake holders in the movie making industry can meet and bring imaginations to life. Such film village can also accommodate a fully equipped musical studio where artistes from Kogi State have free recordings of their songs. Such film village can also be used for reality television shows which we know Nigerians are already used to.

Apart from the services such projects will render, we also look at the employment of the people of Kogi State. With a state of art film village holding large scale production equipments, there will be need of human resources to man those machines. Also in the part of administration, graduates will also get employment with different levels of responsibilities. The state also stands to become a tourist center with a film village as it will host international film festivals, movie summits, movie premieres, awards and the likes. This will also be a mechanism to attract very big investment into the state, as investors like to see that the process has already kicked off.

The transport system in the state will also improve as the axis will become busier for taxi drivers and other commercial business will enjoy high patronage. I believe that for democracy to grow, projects that engage the youth who make up more than half of the voting masses should be encouraged. An idle mind is the devils workshop and such film village will engage more youths thereby reducing crime. All of this could have been done matching Dino Melayes personality. But like they say, if wishes were horses..... Dino Melaye may need to understand that people want to start seeing the dividends of democracy and are tired of waiting for elections to hear the same promises over and over again. I honestly believe that for such to even happen in Kogi West, he may not need political power, because if he believes in such vision, I know he has the convincing power and the profile to attract investors into the State. Do you think such projects can help Dino Melaye going further in his political career? Please let's have a conversation in the comment section below.
