BUHARI'S 3rd TERM AGENDA AND CONSPIRACY THEORIST

Here's what President Buhari said on November 22nd, 2019 to shut that this nonsense being peddled around by the conspiracy theorists: "I said You should read the constitution because I’m not going to make a mistake of attempting to run a third term or whatever term. Besides the age, I swore by the holy book I believe in that I will go by the constitution and the constitution said two terms".

Here is the drama playing out:

Conspiracy theorists: You have 3rd term agenda

PMB: Where did we discourse that?

Conspiracy theorists: We saw "your people" flying the kite like that of Obasanjo in his 2nd term.

PMB: I have nothing like that in mind and nothing like that will ever happen.

Conspiracy theorists: We said you have 3rd term agenda in mind.

Conspiracy theorists: Dear Nigerians, don't believe him o, he has 3rd term agenda. We must rise up against this agenda. We must get prepared for #OccupyNigeriaSeasonII. We must be united this time around against this 3rd term agenda of Buhari. We will not allow this to happen. We will fight this with all that we have. In fact, referendum is what we need. We will not allow this 3rd term.

Ok, where did you hear this from? The man said there is nothing like that but you insisted that there is something like 3rd term agenda. So, which psychiatric hospital should we recommend for this level of madness in the society and high level of indolence? How do folks wake up and the next thing in their mind was to begin to propagate conspiracy theory out of thin air?

Some weeks ago, we woke up to a News of Buhari having another wife and even Newspapers published the marriage theory. People who were kilometers far away from Abuja and who never had any link with Buhari's family made it their personal project and propagated it on the social media that Buhari would be having a 2nd wife by fire by force.

To start with, his religion permits him to have up to four wives IF he can take care of them. Let's even assume that he wanted to have a 2nd wife, how is that a Nationa discourse? Oh, it's because the woman in question is a Minister in his cabinet. Wait, how could a man planning planning to marry somebody make that same person part of his cabinet just within the same period he planned to "marry" the woman? Una escape from psychiatric hospital?

Just a few days after that conspiracy theory was quashed, the next theory was to show that the President and his Vice were not in good terms and all kinds of "they said, he said". After flying the kite for a while and the conspiracy theorists noticed that it was not going to sell, the next big deal now is to resurrect the story of 3rd term and to dwell on that for as long as possible. How do we raise National discourse in terms of governance when citizens are more interested in dwelling on irrelevance issues that have no base anywhere? How does "3rd term agenda" conversation benefit Nigerians and how does that have any negative effect on the present administration? Who exactly do you think will lose from this mind game by conspiracy theorists? The who period we were supposed to be discussing Government policies and the effects on Nigerians have been hijacked by the theorists and the diversion is now on imaginary 3rd term agenda. Who is losing at the end of the day? Will this by any stretch of imagination have negative impact on the President? The man has won election and moved on, why can't we just focus of issues that will make the Government accountable and responsible instead of all this "Kokubaboni" stories?

Ok, keep flying you kite of conspiracy theory, by the time you are awake to reality, another election will be here and you will blame INEC for the victory of the ruling party again. The whole time you have to be a formidable issue based opposition, you guys have used such periods on irrelevant issues that the citizens eventually discovered were just a product of lies and dirty political gimmicks.

Can we take more time to discuss about Government policies and its effect on the society we live in? Do we have the same level of energy to discourse the impact of #Budget2020 on the 200 million Nigerians? Ok, the man openly said there was nothing like that and there will be nothing like that, what then do you want to protest against? If they pick you up for public incitement, don't come and make noise about tyranny anywhere. Some people can only be relevant by cooking up stories like this, they simply believe some Nigerians are dumb hence whatever propaganda they release will be followed by you. Their assumption is that you can't reason on your own, believing their lies simply means you actually cannot think on your own. Deliver yourself from this shackle of allowing others to think for you, there is nothing like 3rd term agenda anywhere. GO AND DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE WITH YOUR LIFE!
