New Evangel FA of Sagbama wins Bayelsa Kids Cup U-13 tournament

The 4th edition of the Bayelsa Kids Cup under -13 tournament which kicked off on the 10th of June 2018, came to an end 30th June, with the New Evangel football association (FA) of Sagbama emerging champions, after winning in a penalty shootout that ended in a 8-7 score against Donbai FA of Ekeremo.

Speaking to newsmen after the end of the finals, the coordinator, Mr. Ada Gwegwe, expressed satisfaction with the out come of the tournament.

He stated that he was filled with, he appreciated those that supported the competition.

" The future of our football lies on the development of grassroot football, i Commend the Ministry of Sports development Bayelsa State and the Sports Council for their Support and Commitment.

He also further expressed appreciation to notable state figures;

" Rueben Okoya Foundation, George Turnah foundation, the All Stars International Football Club, Precious Nig Ltd, Hon Parkinson Markmanuel,  Hon Tiwei Orunimighe, Mr Desye Nwnkwewe, Hon Osomkime Blakson, Mr Kali Gwegwe, Raphael Okolia, Mr Ebiki Timitimi, Hon Tony Ogola, the players and officials of all the  participating team, the members of the  organizing committee my Back bone Miss  Tepinmo Ben- Osain, management of Yenagoa City Football Academy(YCFA), the Media crew, and all supporters", he said.

Mr Gwegwe also called on well meaning Nigerians to join  hands in the promotion of grassroot football in the country.

" The future of our young talents will be well shaped and there will be hope for them in the nearest future".

Some of the guests present at the closing ceremonies were, commissioner for sports development Hon John  Perekeiyi Buruboyoyefe, the permanent secretary ministry of Sports Development, Mrs Grace Alagoa, Representative  from Reuben Okoya Foundation, the Ysfon Boss in Bayelsa state Mr Kali Gwegwe, Chairman Bayelsa Queens Mr Ebiki Timitimi, The secretary of Delta State Ysfon  Mr Aloysius Okerieke, Elder Etemo, Ex Int Moses Aduku,  the CEO Miss Nollywood Beauty Pageant, Representative of Bayelsa United and Bayelsa Queens FC, stake  holders  in the sports industry, Sports crew from RHYTHM FM 94.7 yenagoa CREEK FM 106.5 yenagoa RAYPOWER 102.5 FM yenagoa amongst others.
