Invite Dickson over Amassoma Killings, leave David Lyon alone - APC Chieftain tells BYHA.

Ahead of 2019, a Chieftain of the All progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa, Barr Festus Daumiebi, has chide the Bayelsa state House of Assembly, in response to a purported invitation of Darlon security services and its chairman, Hon. David Lyon, to appear before it on alleged security breeches by security personnel attached to the said company

Hon. David Lyon, a foremost Niger Delta leader, an APC chieftain and Philanthropist, is expected to appear before the house.

Festus while addressing newsmen, described the invitation as a misplaced priority, breach of the constitution and a move targeted to estrange the party's support in the state.

Festus also accused the house of trying to brandish David Lyon with criminality, saying their intent was to link him to a communal crises that occurred at Korokorosei in Southern Ijaw local Government Area of the state. He therefore noted that politicians in the state should avoid acts that will unnecessarily overheat the polity.

He further extolled Hon. David Lyon as a man with peaceful disposition, adding that his company is currently catering for over five thousand families across the state at a time the state government is retrenching employed workers.

He referred the state House of Assembly to Section 251 of the 1999 constitution as amended, stating that the House lacks the jurisdiction to invite either the company, its  chairman or any of its staff.

Festus while expressing disappointment over the development, advised that the state assembly should be more concerned on issues of securing lives and welfare of Bayelsans, especially the civil servants, rather than focussing it's energy to pull down indigenous contractors.

" The Bayelsa assembly has been mute over critical issues affecting our people, our youths were killed in cold blood at Amassoma, yet no investigation was launched neither preliminary reports given

"In a sane clime, the Governor should have been invited over for questioning, but what we all witness was a reverse

" They have made themselves attack dogs and busy chasing a man who has helped to massively alleviate poverty caused by the state Government", he said.

Barrister Festus finally admonished the state House of Assembly to stop chasing frivolities, invite the Governor over and investigate the killings of the defenceless Indigenes of Amassoma in Southern Ijaw local government area, stating that their families are in pains and yet to be properly attended to.
