Believe in Yourself - Bayelsa Youths commissioner speaks, says Gov. Dickson is committed to Youths development.

Bayelsa's 33 years old commissioner for Youths development and Yenagoa LGA Chairmanship aspirant, Hon. Ibarakumo Otobo, has commended Bayelsa state youths for being peaceful and supportive, as the state celebrates it's six years anniversary.

He also said that with such spirit, Bayelsa state youths need to have self confidence as they can make it on their own just like him.

The commissioner made these remarks to newsmen during the visit former President Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, on the occasion of the Restoration government at six, at the foundation laying ceremony of Azikiel refinery, in
Gbarain, Yenagoa LGA.

The commissioner took himself as an example for the young Bayelsa youths who are desperate to go into all manner of crimes thinking that they cannot make it without carrying arms.

“ Most Youths of these days think that the only way to make it is by arms, that they will forcefully take what belongs to others and fill their pockets, but this is wrong as there are many legitimate ventures that will make them millionaires and employers of labour ” he asserted.

He recollected his hustling days with his friends, many of whom are still struggling from hand to mouth after many years.

He said he began working hard for himself at the age of 14, but after few years that things began to change as he rose through the ranks.

He encouraged youths to build self confidence and do what is right to live a successful life.

He noted that he was aware of some of the challenges bedevilling the youths, which he said is a problem that the restoration government is working hard to resolve.

“The ministry of youth development is concerned about the growth of youths, we will soon unveil plans to sustain and maintain development of youths both vocationally and non-vocationally, we want to provide skills training and empowerment to them,” he said.
