2019: GROUP WANTS OKOKO FOR BAYELSA GUBER

As the people of Bayelsa state begins the horse trade to select who becomes their Governor in 2019, several groups have called on Mr. Keniebi Okoko to join the race for the governorship of the state, with the latest coming from Bayelsa mass movement for Good governance in Bayelsa.

Speaking with our reporter in Yenagoa, President of the group, Comrade Jonathan Dimie and secretary, comr. Raymond Ovie, said the call has become imperative since the people can no longer sit on the fence and leave it's leadership in  the hands of selfish leaders.

The group said though it was yet to meet with the Keniebi, it has assurance that Bayelsa will get better with his likes if he takes over the mantle of governance in the state.

The group therefore called on all Bayelsans, to use this opportunity to play more participatory role in selection of their political representatives.

The group also noted that the state has been left in the hands of emergency political leaders, a reason they noted for the slow pace of people oriented development in the state.
