IYC: 1ST IJAW WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESSFULLY  HOSTED IN LAGOS.

It was a wonderful and exciting day on 23rd of December at LAGOS, the Ijaw youths Council under the leadership of Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo, for the first time in history, hosted a unity event for all the Ijaws residing in Lagos state.

The event was chaired under the distinguished chairmanship of Mr. Keniwenimo Edward Etete, MD/CEO Century Energy services Ltd, and had the attendance of dignitaries even from other ethnic nationality, Bar YINKA oguntimehin, the national publicity secretary oodua peoples Congress ( OPC) represented Otunba Gani Adams the a are kakan for of Yoruba nation.

Representing Barr. Pereotubo R. Oweilaemi, 7TH President, Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide, at the event was Amb. Anthony Oki, the National assistant secretary of the council.

The Nigeria Naval Playground, Naval barracks (Opp. Coca-Cola Nig. Plc), Mobil Road, Marine beach, Apapa-Lagos, was the venue of the event.

Ijaws from all works of life residing in Lagos were in attendance in the spirit of Unity and love.

The event featured traditional wrestling contest, singing, dancing and ugele procession, the culture of the Ijaw people, was revived.

Amb. Anthony Oki, noted that the next stop of the event will be in Bayelsa State, followed by Okochiri and Delta.
