Bayelsa students debunks alleged sponsored protest against Dickson.

A coalition of students in Bayelsa, under the aegis of bayelsa central students, has debunked a press statement captured in the Nation newspaper of 29th, september 2017, alleging that a federal lawmaker is intent on sponsoring protests to disrupt the restoration government.

According to the Nation report, captured " students expose senator's plot to discredit Dickson's government", it asserted that a Senator from the state is plotting to use some students in discrediting Gov. Dickson's administration.

But the coordinator of the Bayelsa Central students, Comr. Profit taylor, has described the report as "concocted barrage of lies by faceless elements intended to malign the personality of the Senator"

According to him, "That the allegation that a federal law maker has recruited and sponsored students to protests against the government was completely false, misleading, preposterous and a figment of imagination by desperate politicians who feel threatened by the towering qualities of a silent achiever of our clime"

The group who were responding to allegations by one Mr. Willy Aganaba, said the name is pseudonym, created for the purpose of blackmail and to cause disaffection amongst the political leaders.

Profit said his students are not politicians but advocates of development, and would continue to support good governance and profitable policies at all levels, especially as it concerns the welfare of students.

" While we commend the restoration government in it's current campaign of revamping the Educational sector in Bayelsa, we also commend well meaning bayelsans for lending a hand to the plight of thirty (30) students who were almost at the verge of dropping out of school especially those from the state owned Niger Delta university, due to the outrageous hike in fees"

" We are all aware that while other states are supporting their students via intervention known as bursary, Bayelsa students for the past five years have waited in despair to no avail, though the government has no doubt been focusing on infrastructure, and development of the secondary education which is also quite commendable'

" It's important to note that a man who feels the pains of his constituent students had last month successfully sponsored the educational needs of thirty (30) students three from each of the constituencies of Southern-ijaw, Yenagoa, Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA's respectively, which is under bayelsa central district, and everyone knows.

"As students of bayelsa state, we are happy for any gesture at this point in time as we are so in dire need of assistance.
We advise anyone that is ready to support the student community not to give ears to blackmails and political jobbers. We also wish to assure anyone that is ready to assist the student community of our unalloyed support and cooperation as such supports  continues to come," he added.
