Ogbia constituents moves to protest against Hon. Sodaguwo, says lawmaker deserves no honour.

Constituents of Ogbia federal constituency in Bayelsa State, under the umbrella of Ijaw youths, have described the award presented to Hon. Sodaguwo Adegadiza Festus-Omoni, representing Ogbia Federal constituency, as an insult and a defilement of the sacred institutions in the entire Ogbia land.

Hon. Sodaguwo has been accused of negligence and nepotism, they threatened to stage a peaceful protest in the LGA, to lodge their displeasure over what they described as a wrong choice of Ogbia award recipient.

The angry constituents, comprising mainly of leaders of ijaw youths council in the LGA, was very angry over the actions.

They accused the lawmaker of being a Northern based politician, who favours only members of her immediate family.

Leaders of the body for the LGA made the statement while addressing newsmen in Yenagoa on Tuesday afternoon, 25th September 2017. The statement was signed by Comr. Amiebi Turner, Vice-chairman, IYC central zone/Leader IYC Ogbia LGA, Comr. Ominabo Koyam Tiger, IYC clan chairman Elect, Emeyal clan, Afen Enason Patrick, Vice-chairman Elect, Emeyal Clan.

They lamented that the lawmaker is yet to deliver on any of her campaign promises, accusing her of shying away from her constitutional responsibilities.

The statement reads, " Hon. Sodaguwo Adegadiza Festus-Omoni, has no good track record in Ogbia LGA, that has warranted an award to be presented to her, we are aware that those who did so, were induced with financial gains, same students who threatened Ben murray-bruce with recall and later went back to collect money from him cannot speak onbehalf of Ogbia people, from our records and judging from her misrepresentation, Hon Sodaguwo is yet to give account of her stewardship, she deserves no award.

" The Award plaque in her possession, remains null and void, it bears no meaning and no honour in Ogbia land, it's an empty wood, we advise her to throw it away.

" Those who engage in such deceitful enterprise in the name of Ogbia will be subsequently use as detriment to others, our soil is sacred, therefore, we will not soil it with misdeeds and corrupts practices..

" Hon. Sodaguwo does not understand the rudiments of being a National lawmaker, she is yet to pass any bill to favour Ogbia people, Ogbia people disown such award birthed in corruption and fraud".

The Statement further stressed that the award also presented to the immediate past caretaker Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Ebiago Egai, was not only meant to mock Ogbia people but to desecrate it's values.

" Hon. Ebiago Egai, who could not embark on a LGA thank you tour campaign, as his fellow counter parts did, Same man with no achievement throughout his stay in office, was awarded, it's clearly shows that the students were only interested in making money out of the process.

" That award is also null, void and invalid".

The statement also called on Ogbia people to wake up and resist bad governance in any form, they asked other political elected officials, to remember that they are leaders of a people.

Meanwhile, attempts to contact the lawmaker, students and Chairman, was futile, as their contact was out of reach.
