NDU E-PIN HIKE: STUDENT UNION HALTS ALL PAYMENTS, CALLS FOR EMERGENCY MEETING TOMORROW 14TH AUGUST.
The Students union President, Niger Delta University, Comr. Kemes Mitin, has advised all students in the institution whom are yet to purchase their E-Pin, to halt all payments, pending the outcome of tomorrow's meeting with students leaders to address the hike.
In an information gathered by Bodmasnewsblog.com, just when students of the institution are battling to pay their school fees with a deadline set at August 18, there is a current rise on the price of E-pin meant for online course registration, inflating from #1,000 to a new price of #3,000, while the registration process has now moved from #500 to #1,200, amounting to a total of #4,200, which was initially #1,500.
Speaking in a meeting with Mitin, he noted that the price was outrageous and would totally be rejected by union's leadership, adding that, it will spell doom for students who are yet to cope with the hike in school fees.
Mitin therefore called for an emergency meeting amongst students of the institution and the union's leadership, maintaining that the idea of the gathering was to draft out a resolution and take a stand against the hike.
" I wish to call the attention of the entire students of Niger Delta University, that there will be an emergency meeting tomorrow 14th August at the Aluta secretariat by 9AM, this injustice is becoming unbearable, we must all come together to register our displeasure, the inflation is totally unacceptable", he added.
