Ijaw youths leader refutes Igbeta claim of Assault, Says nobody attacked the National legal Adviser.

An Ijaw youth leader in Central Zone has described the allegations of the IYC National legal adviser, Barr. Ayebakuro Igbeta, as a cheap propaganda aimed to deceive the unsuspecting public, to gain cheap attention and attract sympathy to himself.

On 15th July, Barr. Igbeta had earlier alleged that he was assaulted by an aggrieved aspirant and his supporters at a popular hotel in Kpansia, yenagoa, but stated that he has forgiven the attacker.

Barr. Igbeta described the assault as a transfer of aggression, noting that, the attacker was an aspirant who failed in the IYC central zonal elections conducted on Saturday.

" Let it be on record that I have no rift or whatsoever with the said attacker prior to this time but only thinks it's rather a transfer of aggression over the outcome of the Elections, I vowed when taking my Oath of office as National Legal Adviser to guide & protect the civil, legal & human rights of all Ijaw Sons & Daughters all over the world, so it will rather be unwise if I'm still the reason why any Ijaw Youth is maltreated, watched, apprehended or chraged by Security Agencies for either attempted murder, assault or infliction of grievous bodily harm. No human being on earth have monopoly of violence", igbeta said.

But in an Interview with Comr. Lante Tarigha, Nembe born Ijaw youths leader and a vice-chairman aspirant in the just concluded elections, who according to him, the allegations were pointing to, he revealed that the allegations from Igbeta were all false, targeted at gaining sympathy and to ridicule his own image before Ijaw people.

Lante maintained that those who know him, can attest of his peaceful disposition, especially as it has to do with issues that affects Ijaw Nation.

According to lante, he maintained that it had become necessary to properly inform the general public else the public would continue to feed on the falsehood been propagated by Igbeta.

" Shortly after the Elections, Igbeta confronted me with unfounded stories, accusing me of deforming his image, which according to him, he got the information from some close allies, i then demanded his location so i could meet with him in person to clarify myself, i met him at the hotel, sitting with the said persons who fed him with the false information, while i was trying to clear myself, igbeta began raising his voice at me, we began shouting at each other, banging the table that the bottles on it fell and broke, we almost engaged ourselves in fisticuffs,  but the situation was controlled  by youths around, Igbeta left the scene, and few minutes after that, i went online and saw stories that he was beaten and injured by me and my supporters, which were lies.

" It has therefore become necessary for me to clear the air, so the public do not rely on false information, else false will be considered as truth", Lante said.

The Youth leader further said, he was shocked that Igbeta who represents the image of Ijaw people would stoop low to propagate falsehood inorder to drag media attention and sympathy, knowing fully well the implications of such denigrating stories to the image of Ijaw youths.

" Seriously, i do not expect this from Igbeta, i am disheartened by his conduct, if he claims he was assaulted, let him show pictures of the scars inflicted on him, Igbeta as a representative of Ijaw people should know the kind of information he feeds to the public as it tells a lot about the image of our people", he added.
