IYC CENTRAL ELECTIONS: DICKSON HAS NO CANDIDATE, SAGBAMA TO PRODUCE NEXT CHAIRMAN.

A Source from the Bayelsa State Government house has revealed that the executive Governor of Bayelsa state, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, has made bold and clear that he has no anointed candidate in the forthcoming IYC Central zonal Elections, the source stated that the Governor was elected by Bayelsans, as he campaigned vigorously in almost all communities in the state, as such those who were interested in occupying public offices, should seek the people's support, that government's duty is to maintain law and order.

The source revealed that the Governor believes in the principle of fairness and equity and will never resort to imposing any candidate as against the constitution of any organisation in the state.

The source therefore warned all those peddling rumour with the Governor's name to desist from it as the restoration government is a government of all bayelsans and not only to some specific people.

Meanwhile, findings have also shown that the position of the central zonal chairman is shared amongst the different senatorial district in the zone.

The position has therefore been zoned to the people of Bayelsa west, and Sagbama is said to be the rightful people to produce the next chairman in the principle of fairness, Equity and justice.

This is because overtime, the people of Ekeremor LGA, have constantly produced zonal chairman and other positions allocated to the district.

Let it also be noted that all the positions allocated to the Bayelsa west district in the Zone, are all currently occupied by persons from Ekeremor with no one from Sagbama. The positions are: Vice-chairman, Treasurer, Woman leader.

Judging from above, one would wonder if the people of Ekeremor and Sagbama are no longer brothers again, if they are? Why is Ekeremor still vying for the Chairmanship, why not the mobilisation officer and Students rep.

Informations gathered also revealed that all clans, stakeholders, and zonal structures are working hard to ensure the principle of fairness and equity, to ensure that the people of Sagbama are not bargained out.

Comr. Prince Oweibi, fmr Bayelsa students President, who in his time, ensured the payments of bursary and stood out on issues that bothers on Bayelsa youths, an indigene of Sagbama Lga, has indicated his interest to run for Chairman.
