From a drug addict to becoming an international footballer: Amnesty beneficiary commends buhari, appreciates Boroh.
The Ofice of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator Amnesty Programme General Paul Tarela Boroh (Rtd), has continued to show dedication and keen interests in cooperating with the people of the Niger delta to foster peace and development via human capacity development.
The Presidential Amnesty Programme in collaboration with SIAONE Soccer Academy flagged off an initiative aimed at developing talents by training 200 Niger Delta youths in sports development.
The Ceremony was held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State with the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator Amnesty Programme General Paul Tarela Boroh and ex Super Eagles Stars like Tijani Babangida, Garuba Lawal and Samson Siasia in attendance.
Speaking with one of the beneficiaries, who explained himself as one who was seen as a misfit, he narrated how he was into drugs, vandalisation of pipelines and a menace to society, but expressed so much gratitude to the President Buhari led administration for the appointment of Boroh, whom through the office had transformed him from being just a regular footballer on the streets, a drug addict, to a professional player who could now compete and participate in international competitions.
