IYC UNITY ELECTIONS: SECRETARY CANDIDATE DECRIES PERSECUTION, SAYS IT WAS A PDP CONSPIRACY, OWEILAEMI EMERGES PRESIDENT

- GOV. DICKSON APPOINTEE EMERGES AS SECRETARY, WHILE PEREOTUBO EMERGES NATIONAL PRESIDENT.

Yenagoa: A National Secretary candidate in the much Publicised IYC UNITY Election, Snr. Comr. Wisdom Ikuli, has took to his facebook page to describe the contest as a conspiracy against him, stating that the Electoral committee was adhering to the instruction of a state Governor.

He said, " I was a victim of political persecution and victimization. It was purely a PDP conspiracy against me. They specifically said one of the State Governors instructed the ELECO and critical stakeholders to deliver my brother who is also an Appointee of the Bayelsa State Government".

While appreciating all those who stood with me and thanking God Almighty for the journey, he described the winner Snr. Comr. Alfred Nimizigha Kemepado, the immediate past financial secretary of the IYC and also an aide to the Bayelsa state Governor as a colleague, a friend and a  brother.

Snr. Comr. Ikuli wrote,

" BREAKING NEWS ON IYC ELECTION

I lost the ELECTION for the Office of the National Secretary General to my brother, friend and colleague Comrade Alfred Nimizigha Kemepado, immediate past National Financial Secretary of IYC Worldwide.

APPRECIATION

I wish to use this rare opportunity to thank and also appreciate all the Catholic Priests who offered special Masses for my election, my family and great friends on this noble platform.

I was a victim of political persecution and victimization. It was purely a PDP conspiracy against me. They specifically said one of the State Governors instructed the ELECO and critical stakeholders to deliver my brother who is also an Appointee of the Bayelsa State Government.

But in all to God be the glory".

It could be recalled that an earlier Election held in Burutu on 2nd March 2017 organised by the Oscar Isu led Eleco which produced new officers after delegates from various clans in all zones casted their votes in a keenly contested Election.

10. Organizing Secretary - Marcus Ebikemiyen
11. Woman Leader - Yabrifa Jennifer Oliver.

Meanwhile the Unity Elections in Okrika conducted by the Ebi Waribigha led Eleco has produced the tuomo born activists, Barr. Roland Oweilaemi Pereotubo as National President of IYC.

It is also worthy to note that series of litigation are currently in court as to who is duly Elected, of which hearing is Slated for APRIL.
