YENAGOA: In a Press statement dated 5th April 2017, the umbrella body of all Ijaw students worldwide under the aegis of 'National union of Izon-ibe Students (NUIS) worldwide in the central Ijaw district has passed a vote of confidence on the restoration administration led by His Excellency, Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson, following his giant strides taken towards revolutionising the educational sector of the state.

They commended the Governor on his policies which is set to revolutionised the educational sector of the state. And advise Bayelsans to key in for the development of our young generation as the Governor meant well for the people.
The statement read as follows:
" It is a clear indication that Bayelsa State today has been introduced into the map of other competitive state in terms quality and befitting Infrastructures, Facilities, Equipments and Manpower in the educational sector Which is paramount in the development of a people, state, economy and the future.
We Commend the effort of the Countriman Governor and his giant strides, as today there is an ongoing revolution in educational sector Championed by Gov.Henry Seriake Dickson. For the first time in the history of the state we are very proud to have a befitting and world competitive Secondary Schools across the eight Local Government Areas with Standard Boarding Facilities, Computers,Conducive Learning Environment, Sporting Facilities and Free Feeding Scheme for all Students.
The Izon-ibe National Academy is a break in the tradition of the old. Now we have access to quality education in a serene environment courtesy to His Excellency Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson. We are proud of the Free Uniforms, Free books and free feeding of our students in various state owned schools across the Eight Local Government Areas.
We remain resolute to support the Policies of Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson in the Educational sector which is aimed at securing the future of the children of the average bayelsan. Very recently, there's an Educational Tax law, compelling workers to contribute little in securing the future of Bayelsans which will change the narrative of our Youths who are masters in surveillance Jobs, cultism, thuggery and not other open fields like Medicine, Pharmacy,Law,Construction and many others acquired in the classrooms.
There is an Educational Trust Loan law that our students can access as done in other developed countries to enable the poor who aspire to go the university. Even Barrack Obama went through this scheme when he was a student and today we know the story of Barrack Obama. For the first time in Africa, Bayelsa State government led by Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson has given students the opportunity to access loans that will enable them further their education, it's very commendable and palatable to tap and also support the policies of the Restoration Government in the Educational Sector.
As we speak now, Ten Billion naira has been set outside for Education in our tertiary institutions which is the Educational Trust fund. There is an ongoing commencement of the Dual carriage way in Niger Delta University, Building of a befitting Senate building, Vice Chancellor Office, Exams/Records office and resuscitation of dilapidated classrooms. Prudently, 50% has been allocated to Niger Delta University alone which is the heart of Bayelsa tertiary Institutions and 50% shared amongst others for development and building of Infrastructures.
On this note, as lovers of education and as student leaders, with the ongoing revolution happening the Educational sector, we are confident in the Gov. Henry Seriake led administration. We are also calling and appealing on all meaningful Bayelsans to support the Policies of His Excellency and work in synergy with the Government and the National Union of Izon-ibe Students, Central Zone Working Committee to build a better Bayelsa that will be at the pinnacle in the Educational Sector and other sectors.
We want to also use this medium, to advise the Governor to set up a working committee that will have students as members to checkmate defaulters who will breach the payment of the education tax and also to facilitate the process of building more quality education which the educational tax fund is aimed at fulfilling.
Lastly, Gentlemen of the Press, we thank you for coming and we task you to always be at a neutral point of giving our people firsthand information without filter or alterations on issues relating to the betterment of the state".
