Court halts IYC Factional Eleco from conducting Elections - News.

• Ebi Waribigha led Eleco to go ahead with Elections.

YENAGOA: Following the crises that is bedevilling the Ijaw Youths council (IYC) Worldwide, over who stays at the helm of leadership.

According to the Burutu convention Elected Spokesman, Barrister Henry Iyalla, via a Press release dated 1st April 2017, he notified all IYC Members and Ijaw People as follows;

"This is to notify all IYC members and Ijaw people that on the 31st of March 2017, Hon Justice Ogola presided over a matter involving Eric Omare President IYC and 10 others Vs Ebi Warebigha and others.

Hon Justice Ogola in that sitting directed Counsel to the Respondents Koyode Esq. to undertake to advice and ask his Clients to maintain the status-quo by preserving the Res (which means asking his clients not to do any election pending the hearing and determination of the Preliminary Objection raised by the Counsel to the Respondents represented by Ebi Warebigha as to the Jurisdiction of the Court to entertain the suit).

Counsel to the respondents in an open Court undertook to hand down the position of the Court to his Clients and further promised the court to hold him responsible if the Respondents fails to obey the directives of the Court before the 13th day of April, 2017.

The matter was accordingly adjourned to the 13th day of April, 2017 for the hearing and determination of the Preliminary Objection and the Motion on Notice in the Matter", he said.

He further stress that the proceedings of the court shall be released on Monday, 3rd April 2017, for evidential purposes.

He therefore called on all Ijaw sons and daughters to abide by the directive of the court and allow a peaceful resolution of all grievances.

Meanwhile the Ebi Waribigha led Eleco, which is a product of the Okrika Unity convention, conducted it's screening of candidate yesterday 1st April 2017.

The Eleco against all odds has continued with its planned Election, scheduled to hold, Saturday 8th to Sunday 9th April 2017.
