How IYC Buses, job chances were sold  - Ag. Chairman reveals, begs Ijaw people for forgivenes.

Yenagoa: The Ag. Chairman of IYC Central zone, Comr. Amiebi Turner has tendered an unreserved apologies to ijaws in the central, following the zonal failed leadership which has not being able to meet up with the expectations of the people, by providing Job opportunities, speaking out to defend Ijaw people, calling for congresses, transparency briefing, setting up it's administration office, amongst others.

He made this statement while accusing the zonal suspended chairman, the information officer, the assistant secretary, others of being behind an inept and corrupt leadership that has incapacitated the zone, ranging from their various unscrupulous activities, in areas of, sales of council busses, cornering of employments opportunities and commercialization of it (especially selling job chances to non-indigenes), misuse of public funds, operating the council without a secretariat, abuse of government privileges, disregard for clan structures & constitution processes, and rallying around multinationals in the state for selfish purposes.

The ag. Chairman stated that since the emergence of the central zonal executives in 2014 thereabout, the zone has never had any Congress neither has there been any fora to reach out to Ijaw people, he also mentioned that during the IYC transitional process, the immediate past President of Council, Engr. Udengs Eradiri approved the sum of four hundred thousand naira (#400,000) for zonal congress to be held, which was squandered without achieving it's intent.

He went further to narrate how the Government of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, out of his magnanimity and love for Ijaw affairs, approved the sum of two million naira (#2,000,000) twice, for acquisition of a functional secretariat for the zone, rather the funds were shared among the suspended chairman, the information officer and members of their clique, " also the past President, Engr. Udengs allocated to us an office space in Ijaw House, which was failed to use till date", he added.

The ag. Chairman further explaining things, narrated also, how Job chances were given to the zone from Daewoo, LNG, Federal university otuoke, Niger delta university, Nigeria content and development monitoring board, Federal poly Ekowe, government parastatals, oil companies, filling stations and so many others too numerous to mention, but instead of allocating these chances to Jobless Ijaw youths in the zone, they were all rather commercialised and sold out under their watch.

He also categorically mentioned  the information officer, Comr. Tari Agai of singlehandedly selling a brand new 14seater coaster bus donated to council by then Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezanni Madueke, barely three weeks of purchase, he also stated that the other busses which was donated by the Bayelsa state government were sold out under the watch of Suspended chairman in connivance with persons whom have factionalised the council today.

The Ag. Chairman in his apologetic speech, appealed to all stakeholders, leaders, clan chairmen and the entire ijaw youths, to forgive the zone, for the disappointment it has brought to Ijaw Nation.

According to him, this activities were the things he always opposed to as the then financial secretary, he maintained that he has severally cautioned them to desist and repent but they chose to continue;

" And when the Past President, Engr. Udengs Eradiri threatened to arrest them if they fail to produce the busses and return the Job chances to Ijaw youths, instead of heeding to his wise counsel, they rather ganged up against him to rubbish his image, they formed an unholy alliance  with others and began an unwarranted media and power battle with him". He said.

The Ag. Chairman therefore called on the IYC leadership led by Barr. Eric Omare, the critical stakeholders, elders of Ijaw Nation, to quickly set up an investigation and recovery committee, that will as a matter of urgency carry out proper investigations on the issues raised, and to ensure that all council's property, job opportunities and contracts are immediately recovered and given to the deserving persons.

The Ag. Chairman lastly thanked all those who stood gallantly with the IYC immediate past President, Engr. Udengs Eradiri, to return sanity, sanctity, ethics, morality, discipline and purpose, to the IYC, he also appreciated the entire clan structures led by Comr. Oki Isiya, for their devotion and selfless service in the face of all this demoralising activity over the years, he concluded by stating that he has began meetings with the critical organs of the zone and leaders, which will amount to calling for a congress in a no short time, where issues affecting Ijaw youths in the central would be properly addressed.
