ENDORO OWEKEIYE PRESENTS 12 IDEALS THAT COULD TRANSFORM IYC & THE IZON NATION
A foremost Ijaw youths leader and Environmental activists, Comr. Endoro Oweikeye, an IYC National Presidential candidate, has presented a 12-points agenda that could transform the Ijaw Nation, bringing about infrastructural and human capital development.
They are listed as follows;
1. KAIAMA DECLARATION
• To re-evaluate the ideals of the Kaiama declaration.
2. UNITY
• To build a more united National Executive, IYC and Ijaw Nation.
3. CONSTITUTION
• Amendment of the IYC Constitution.
4. ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION
• To set up a viable Environmental committee of technocrats to re-evaluate all environmental issues and engage Govts and IOC's to proffer lasting solutions.
5. SELF DETERMINATION AND RESOURCE CONTROL
• To re-evaluate and coordinate the Ijaw Struggle for self determination, social justice and Resource control.
6. HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT & EMPLOYMENTS
• To facilitate human capital development and employment, e.g; employments of youths, Agro Entrepreneurship, Girl Child Education, Education (Scholarships), skills acquisition; sports, Etc.
7. CULTIRAL VALUES
• To entrench a leadership pattern reflecting on the core Ijaw cultiral values.
8. LOCAL CONTENTS
• To ensure strict compliance by multinationals on local content laws and encourage youths participation.
9. OUR RIGHTS
• To consistently quest for an undiluted political, social, economical and cultural autonomy.
10. IJAW LANGUAGE
• To establish Ijaw language laboratory in primary and secondary schools and ensure the study of the language in our tertiary institutions.
11. MEDIA
• To create more awareness and exposure for IYC and the Ijaw Nation on various media platforms.
12. NEEDS ANALYSIS/DEVELOPMENT
• To conduct a need analysis before engaging the Government and private sectors for the provisions of specific needs for Ijaw communities.
The campaign train calls for the support of all illustrious sons and daughter of Ijaw land in actualization of these goals, as elections is set to kick off sooner.
