Barr. Porri picks nomination form, says days of unwarranted arrest of Ijaw youths are over

Barrister Tare Porri, former Nubss President and Deputy Speaker of the IYC  mobile parliament, in company of Ijaw Students, IYC parliamentarians, IYC clan Chairmen, Youths leaders and others, stormed the official address of the IYC Electoral committee to pick up his nomination form for the position of the council's national legal adviser in the forthcoming IYC elections.

Speaking shortly after collection of forms, Porri explained that it was time for intellectual and matured minds to run council's business, narrating how he and his team had successfully freed about 15 arrested Ijaw youths just yesterday in connection with the renewed agitation in the region.

Porri expressed further that his emergence into the council will put an end to the constant intimidation, marginalisation and arrest of innocent Ijaw youths.

Porri who also expressed confidence in the electoral committee led by Oscar Isu, stated that he was sure that for the first time, the Ijaw Nation is about to witness free, fair and credible elections, which is the hallmark of every electoral institution.

Porri advised all Ijaw youths to be law abiding and patriotic in the discharge of their duties towards the actualisation of the struggle for Resource Control and Self Determination.
