IYC ELECTIONS: "I WILL FREE ALL INCARCERATED IJAW SONS" - TARI PORRI SETS DOWN AGENDAS TO REDEEM IJAW NATION.

Yenagoa: The Deputy Speaker of the IYC mobile parliament and foremost students/Youths activist, Barrister Tari Porri has laid down some of his agendas for the Ijaw nation as we approach the forthcoming Ijaw youths council worldwide Elections.

Speaking with newsmen in his office today in Yenagoa at the Ijaw House, Barrister Porri slated about 11 points of his numerous agendas.

He said " The Ijaw nation today is faced with diverse legal problems, in putting an end to this, my vision as candidate as the legal adviser of our great council are as follows:

• I will commence for the first time setting up of IYC legal team across the three zones and chapters in Nigeria and diaspora, the mandate of the committee is to attend to the Legal issues that are confronting Ijaw youths across the zones and chapters.

• I will rigorously engaged security agencies across the Niger Delta, particularly in the Ijaw speaking state against the extra-judicial killings of the ijaws in the Nigerian state.

• I will engage the multinational companies operating in the region over thier failure to change their expired pipelines which has caused a lot of damage, for them to quickly replace their expired pipes, because 79% of spills are caused by them, very recent is that of Egbesuo in Ekeremor Lga, that has taken several lives.

• I will take oil companies to international court of Justice for the unjust treatment they have done on the Ijaws over the years.

• I will commence the process of enforcing the fundamental human rights of all Ijaws that are currently incarcerated against their rights and to also demand for their freedom inline with provided laws of our country.

• I will guide the IYC leadership to operate inline with the constitution of the country and the council's constitution.

• I will utilise my intellectual capacity in solving the numerous legal challenges of all Ijaw youth worldwide.

• I will sue for peace, unity and collaboration of all Ijaw sons and daughters for the sake of the ideals of our forefathers.

• I will strive within all powers to pursue the Ijaw cause".

He further called on the federal government to immediately withdraw the military from all Ijaw communities and to stop intimidating and harassing Ijaw people in the guise of searching for Tompolo. He added.
