Tinubu/Oyegun rift:The sad End of APC - Afenifere
Lagos – National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin on Tuesday said he is not surprised about the latest developments in the All Progressives Congress (APC) which has pitched one of its national leaders, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu against the National chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie- Oyegun.
Tinubu, had issued a statement on Sunday demanding Oyegun’s resignation over the fallout of the Ondo APC primary which was won by Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu.
However Odumakin, who spoke in a chat with Independent said he knew all along that the APC will soon encounter problems because it was built on falsehood.
Odumakin who liken APC’s case to that of armed robbery said the party was not founded on any ideology or principle but just for the sake of getting power and, having acquired the power, they could not agree on positions.
“Yoruba say that a house that is built with spittle, it is the dew that will bring it down. The APC was not founded on any ideology or principle; it was founded on the desire just to get power”.
“ It is like armed robbery. When armed robbers come together to go and rob, they are in unison but when they finished robbing, how to share the spoil always become a problem”.
“ So, I believe that Tinubu has been shown the short end of the stick and I think it has been done to him consistently. I think his outburst just shows that he can’t take it no more. It is a sad end for the APC” he said
