NUIS 2016: GESIKEME COMMENDS LEADERS FOR SUCCESSFUL CONVENTION.

TUOMO: The 55th National convention of the National Union of Izon-Ebe students (NUIS) Worldwide was held in Tuomo, Bomadi local government area of Delta State, which commenced from 16th and lasted till 18th September. Hon. Prince Gabriel Jonah (Otita 1 of Nembe Kingdom) and the Celtic Pride Group overseed by Barr. Alabh George Turnah were applauded as major contributors who carried the burden of Izon-Ebe upon their shoulders to ensure the convention was hosted and attendees are properly catered for.
The events was graced by high Profiled leaders of the Ijaw nation, inclusive of past and Present leaders of the union who trooped in with their numbers. The Special adviser on domestic duties to the Bayelsa state Governor, Hon. Richman also graced the occasion with his entourage.
The likes of the President of the Ijaw youths council worldwide, Engr. Udengs Eradiri spoke on the occasion, Barr. Owoupele Jeremiah, fmr. IYC spokesman and Barr. OWEILAEMI PERE-OTUBO Fmr NUIS Worldwide President were guest speakers who spoke on bothering issues affecting the izon-ebe and preferred solution for collective growth.
The convention which started Proper on the eve of Saturday 17th 2016 at the Tuomo Jetty, close to the residence of High Chief Mike Loyibo with Alfred Izonebi playing beautiful music for the audience, as awards of selfless service were presented by Comr. Gesikeme Fulutu to some notable leaders.
Speaking at the occasion, Engr. Udengs Eradiri, The President of the Ijaw youths council spoke on the need for Ijaw people to unite and pursue a common cause rather causing factions for their selfish interest, he warned the students to Shun all manner of cult activities and advised those who are cult members to distance their cult activities from the affairs of Ijaw People.
The former IYC Spokesman, Barr. Owoupele Jeremiah also spoke on the importance of students activism towards actualizing the Niger Delta's cause, in his words: " Students have always occupied a very special place in our development history all over the world. The history of students in shaping policies and other issues in Africa has been overwhelming . The likes of Dr Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Jomo Kenyatta of Kenya, julius Nyerere of Tanzania , Nnamdi Azikiwe of Nigeria to mention but a few where at different times student union leaders who shaped their history in different but positive ways. In our own country, the role of students are glaring and has remained undisputed".
Barr. OWEILAEMI PERE-OTUBO, fmr NUIS Worldwide President, explained the importance of Ijaw people to the Nigerian Economy, he stated categorically that if the Problem of Ijaw are not addressed, Nigeria may know no peace, he therefore encouraged the youths to continue to exhibit the true spirit of Izon as it is paramount to Niger Delta's development.
Comr. Gesikeme Fulutu appreciated leaders who had contributed so much to the izon-ebe race, he appreciated in particular, Hon. Prince Gabriel Jonah (Otita one of Nembe Kingdom), The management of Celtic Pride Group, the Ag. M.D of NDDC, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari and many others.
Gesikeme further gave leadership award on behalf of the izon-ebe students union to some notable leaders in Persons of, Engr. Udengs Eradiri, Hon. Felix Tuodolo, Mrs. IBIM SEMINATARI, Barr. Owoupele Jeremiah, High Chief Mike Loyibo, Robert Igali, Comr. Kennedy Olorogun, Comr. Ken Okorodas, Doupere Fadah, Appiah Cyril and others. The award was given in recognition of their selfless service and commitment to the entire Izon-Ebe students union.
The Events was brought to a close by music from Alfred Izonebi who played good tunes that kept leaders and comrades dancing and Jubilating till dawn.
The Next day morning was followed by the Election of New leadership which saw the Emergence of Comr. Douye sefere saviour as the new National President of the union while Comr. Bethseeba emerged as vice president.
