IYC PRESIDENT CONDEMNS KILLING OF 17YR. OLD BY BAYELSA POLICE, COMMENDS JTF, AFRICANUS, TELLS FG TO CONSTRUCTION NEMBE-BRASS ROAD.

YENAGOA: The President of the Ijaw youths council (IYC) WORLDWIDE, Engr. Udengs Eradiri has today in a press statement, condemned the extra-judicial killing of Master Innocent Kokorifa by members of the Bayelsa state police command.

Speaking at the council secretariat, he described the murder of the 17yr old as tragic, painful and a Violation of fundamental human rights of Kokorifa, and demanded the Bayelsa police force to immediately arrest the culprit to avoid breakdown of law and order.

Udengs further expressed sympathy to the family of the deceased and urged all youths in the state to stand up and speak against this barbaric act.

Udengs also commended the Nigeria military, Africanus Ukparasia, other Ijaw leaders and youths of various communities for the timely arrest of, in particular, the killers of soldiers in Nembe, which has averted reprisal of military invasion to Ijaw communities.

He also advised youths to desist from crimes and urges the federal government to roll out developmental plans for the Niger Delta people, especially in area of construction of roads, this he explained will help to boost the People's economy thereby attracting investors and other meaningful development to the LGA'S.

According to Udengs, a Motorable road to Brass, will encourage economic activities that will engage teeming youths and also help in curbing the menace of violence, pipeline vandalism, sea piracy and other crimes, the road will also allow quick and easy passage of individuals and goods and open up the region to more development.
