Gunmen kills 3 security operatives in Nembe, Bayelsa state.

About six unknown gunmen believed to be sea-pirates invaded a community in Nembe, Bayelsa state today, killing 3 security operatives(JTF) after involving in a sporadic shootout.

The killings which occurred at 10:15am this morning lasted for about 15 minutes of gun battle between both parties. The gunmen who are said to be on white-on-white outfit, a red cap and a white flag in front of the boat drove directly to the JTF check-point chanting "Asawana-wana", they however made away with a gunboat belonging to de security operatives [JTF].

It is understood that similar event has occurred in the past with the previous happening last week Monday, though no killing was recorded.

Meanwhile, report reaching us indicates that the road linking Nembe to yenagoa, the state capital, has been blocked by JTF, thereby restricting movement. The community however is now in great fear and tension as indigens glamour for govt intervention.
