2016 NUIS ELECTIONS: ELECO MEMBERS CHARGED TO CONDUCT FREE AND FAIR POLLS
YENAGOA: Following the setting up of a convention planing committee on July 12 for the National Union of Izon-Ebe students (NUIS), worldwide elections.
The National President of the union, Comrade Gesikeme Fulutu, has again approved the setting up of a six (6) member Electoral committee, for the 2016/2017 academic year.
The six (6) member Electoral committee, according to him, two members each were drawn from the three geopolitical zones, ranging from Western (Delta, Ondo Edo), Eastern (Akwa-Ibom, Rivers, Cross River), Central (Bayelsa).
The six members, Zones and their portfolios are as follows:
EASTERN ZONE:
• Deborah ibinabo ~ member
• Samuel Gerald Cookey ~ P.R.O, Electoral Commitee.
WESTERN ZONE:
• Tamar Biripu ~ Secretary, Electoral committee
• Messiah Monday ~ member.
CENTRAL ZONE:
• College famous ~ Chairman Electoral committee.
• Olali Gift to serve ~ fin.secretary, electoral committee.
The statement also gives directives for the aforementioned persons, with immediate effect to draw up a blueprint and commence sales of forms.
The President further gave his remarks by expressing gratitude to all former and present stakeholders towards their immense contributions in building the izon-ebe union. He still further reinstated his commitment to call for a stakeholders meeting, this he said shall be in due course.
He added " let us all work together for the unity and development of our great union, I sincerely appreciate those who gave all they had to get to were we are today, God bless you, I also want to appeal to notable stakeholders and leaders of our region to always support the izon-ibe students union, either morally, physically or otherwise, in unity we stand and divided we fall".
