BREAKING: BYHA LOCKED DOWN AS WORKERS PROTEST AGAINST SILGA'S BOSS, MACIVER.
YENAGOA: Workers of southern Ijaw local government area on Thursday, 14th July 2016 took to the state house of Assembly, barricading it's entrance, to protest against the Injustice meted against them by the southern Ijaw LGA caretaker chairman, Hon. Joshua MacIver.
The workers who identified themselves as members of the post primary schools board, complained bitterly that after several months of work, they were shocked to have heard that they have been sacked on the grounds that their appointments were not genuine.
Speaking with one of them, prefers to be anonymous, explained that they were employed in 2008, and since then have been serving the state orderly.
He also explained that the issue complained is peculiar alone to southern Ijaw, whereas other LGAs are currently paying their workers.
He therefore explained, that since it was a case of injustice, they had to resort to plead with the lawmakers to intercede on their behalf and call the local government boss to order.
