AFRICA COMMENDS DSS OVER ARREST OF GEN. DARIKORO, ADVISES YOUTHS TO EMBRACE PEACE.
The Chairman of the Niger Delta water-ways security taskforce, Bayelsa chapter, Master Africanus Ukparasia a.k.a Gen. Skippio in a statement today, 25th July 2016, commended the DSS over the arrest of one Jones Abiri popular known as General DARIKORO, who was alleged to have been the masterminder of the attempted coup on Mr. President during the Ogoni clean up exercise visit and other several attacks on pipelines, unwarranted threats e.t.c.
DARIKORO was arrested by the DSS on 21 JULY, 2016 at Yenegoa for alleged pipeline vandalism belonging to Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) at ogboinbiri pipe link and Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) at Brass Creek, Threat to launch missile attack on selected areas in Abuja including Aso Rock, Threat messages to management of NAOC and SPDC demanding the sum of 500 Million naira and 250 million naira respectively.
General Africa lauded the DSS for its effort to curb the menace of oil theft in the Niger Delta Region stating that pipeline vandalism pays no good but evil to our society; it endangers ones life and causes environmental degradation which we are suffering in our region today.'' Despite effort made by government agencies to clean up our land we still indulge in acts that hampers such effort; very appalling '' he said.
He went further to advise all Niger Delta youths to embrace peace in the region and constantly frown at violence, vandalism or any form of criminality. '' The region continues to be the most productive region in Nigeria, Youths can be productive if only positivity in embraced''. He added.
In final words, he calls on Government at all level to support youths in the region as it is a tool to nation and capacity building.
