NUBSS, NUIS, NUOS buries Comr. Obele Wilson Amidst tears, Commends IYC for support.
- Students gives government 1 week ultimatum to call off strike or will be forced to shut down Yenagoa.
OGBIA -- It was a sad day for the Bayelsa state state student community as they laid to rest one of their own , Comrade Obele Wilson a 500L student of the faculty of engineering (department of petroleum engineering) in Niger Delta University who was shot dead on 28th June 2016 by armed rubbers opposite diamond bank in Yenagoa. Obele Wilson was survived by both parents and two siblings.

The remains of late Obele Wilson was conveyed in a motorcade from Federal medical centre (FMC), Yenagoa to his community, Otakeme in Ogbia local government area. A procession led by National union of Bayelsa students (NUBSS), National Union of Izon-ibe (NUIS) students and National union of Ogbia students (NUOS) was done round the community to pay their final respect to their departed comrade.
Touched by the untimely and painful demise of Obele Wilson , Engr. Udengs Eradiri President of Ijaw Youth council made cash donation to his family. He also made available a IYC Coaster bus to convey students and attendee to and fro the burial. The financial secretary of IYC Comr.Alfred Kemepado was himself present at the burial to commiserate with the family and student community over their loss.
On his path, the Bayelsa state Chairman student management committe, Comr. Ebi Apaingolo who was on ground to commiserate with the family and pay his last respect to Obele Wilson.
At the end, the deceased family thanked the student community represented by NUBSS, NUIS and NUOS for their support towards the successful burial of their son. They also thanked the Ijaw Youth Council and Engr. Udengs Eradiri for his support.
In return president of NUBSS Natus Gifted commiserated with the family over their loss and urged them to remain strong. He also commended the Ijaw Youth Council led by Engr. Udengs Eradiri. The President of NUOS, Comr. Emma, who played host to guest, also commended and appreciated the students community for their efforts.
The president of NUIS Gesikeme Fulutu advised students to remain united, he also said he's giving the government of Bayelsa state one (1) ultimatum to settle their different with ASUU and other union in Niger Delta University or students will shut down Yenagoa. According to him female undergraduates of Niger Delta University who are supposed to be in school have now been taken into prostitution and the boys now resort to stealing and other crimes.
