Gov. Okowa, call the new State PDP Chairman, Esiso to order - Fejiro Oliver

While the election that produced Barr. Kingsley Esiso as Delta State PDP Chairman was going on, I was busy in Abuja getting feedback from reporters we sent to Cenotaph arena as well as political sources. Everyone of them sent us same report which is "the election was all formality as a winner has since emerged months ago".

Truly the 'election' produced Esiso. No one is contesting the decision of the stakeholders to give the party power to him. His emergence is however under contention as he's seen as half Urhobo and half Itsekiri, which is not fully acceptable to some Delta PDP central chieftains who believes that he's not their candidate. But I am not after his origin.

We will only be deceiving ourselves if we pretend not to know that he's a choice of the Speaker,  Monday Igbuya and the Governor. Again some don't have issues with that but this is the issue.

Disturbing reports from key political party men is that Esiso is rubbing his 'victory' on their faces and even issuing threats to those of them who do not agree with his emergence. In a sane society, no one expects everyone to accept him. Even in a true election where a winner emerged, wounds are nursed, much more the one that was brought about by SELECTION.

The threat by Esiso that party officials should retrace back their steps in 3 months shows how an amateur he is in politics. What then is the purpose of having an appeal panel for aggrieved members to seek redress? Esiso should be made to understand that he's there not by merit but chance, not by luck but by agreement and not even by divine arrangement did he become the chairman.

OKOWA should call him to order and tutor him on political reconciliation and not talk like an Army General giving instructions to his combatant. OKOWA should lecture him on how to pacify aggrieved party members than this braggadocio he's displaying which will further polarise the party.

Esiso should embark on serious door to door talks with those who feel sidelined for they are the arrows of 2019. He should humble himself and make himself the party servant. He should go crawling if need be to leaders of the party, appeal to their conscience on the need for them to take him not as chairman but as one that wants to transition the party. He should not look at the fact that he has Okowa's support and therefore can ignore other party faithfuls.

He should learn from Uduaghan, Okowa on how they managed party crisis. He should even learn from the super thief Peter Nwaoboshi who bought N7 billion Guinea House for N805 million how he was able to carry every party member along without bitterness and rancour.

The earlier he begins this, the better for him and the best for the party.

His emergence I support but his actions I do not.
